Embedding Quotations

Putting quotations in your writing helps to provide evidence to go along with your claim.
Signal phrases used to introduce a quote.
Examples of signal phrases below
1.Use a comma to start the quotation in a sentence and CAPITALIZE the first letter of the quote
EX-Richard Brown says,"Dirt bikes are the funnest thing to ride in the world."
EX-I think, "Some people will never learn from there decisions."
2.Sometimes you will have a built in quotation this occurs when you use the word that and a signal phrase
EX-Richard thinks that "he don't get enough sleep at night."
EX-I think that "pizza is the best food ever."
3.No incomplete sentences. Start talking and introduce the quote don't just jump in with it
EX-Step Brothers is my favorite movie: "Mom can we build bunk beds"
EX-I listen to Nirvana sometimes:"He's the one that likes to shoot his gun"
